LANGUAGE:
The origin of the word insidious means something subtle but with harmful effects.the red in title represents the evil and horror within in the movie. It can also represent a turning point just like int he movie: it starts off with a casual family until the demon corrupts the son. This relates to the genre of the movie, horror which normally has a demon or a poltergeist in it.The production blurb is an important part of the poster as it tells us who produced it , the actors, the directors. The quote "its not the house that is haunted" is from the film and implies that the child is haunted not the house, we know this because of the child eyes. The colour scheme of this poster is dark and gloomy which makes all the white writing stand out because dark and gloomy contrast with white and bright.
INSTITUTION;
This film was made from the makers of saw and paranormal activity which are popular horror movies and this will help promote insidious to become more popular and a higher rated movie. This film was directed by James Wan and written by Leigh Whannel.
AUDIENCE:
The audience target for insidious is for 13+,This is due to the genre 'horror'.The insidious tariler seems to place a large amount of faith in the title that says 'from the creators of paranormal activity'.This title indicates to the audience the genre and also establishes a part of the target audience. Those who are fans of paranormal activity will automatically show an interest in the horror genre or an interest in this particular film, it can also include a interest in the directors previous fils which may be an indicator as to why the someone watch the film.I think the child's eye stands out the most because they are scratched out and without his eye he wouldn't have eye contact with the audience and wouldn't be able to connect with them.
REPRESENTATION:
In the background the dark, grey clouds in the sky are slowly over taking the blue bright sky which could represent the movie as in the dark evil demon is taking all the good/happy out of the little son.The child eyes are scratched out which shows that something is wrong with him.Around all the edges of the poster it slowly goes dark which makes the poster look more creepy.Wednesday 28 September 2016
minority report clip analysis:
medium close up
this shot allows the audience to view the facial expression and emotion on the characters faces.the use of the close up allows us to see that the police officer at the front is worried but also concentrated because he has to arrest his boss which is a difficult situation. We can see that the characters are wearing some sort of protection so they can go fight the main character john we know that john is dangerous because they need protection in order to fight him. This juxtaposes with the next scene which is when the police force and john first catch eye to eye also known as a eye line match.
establishing shot
This shot is supposed to introduce the location and set the scene. The location is in and alley way behind some house with a broken car and possibly some graffiti.in the bottom right corner we can see a character standing who is john running from the police force as he knows he has done something to betray the police force.
medium close up
this shot allows us to see the main characters head and shoulders we can also see his facial expression which looks frightened. The character looks worried which may be due to the fact that he is getting chased by a police force or maybe because he feels bad of how he betrayed the police force.

This is a wide shot(WS) of the school where the scene is set. This introduces the location which is greenford high school. We know this is a school because we can see the classes inside the buildings.
This is long shot (LS). This introduces the bully into the scene. This time the picture focuses on the person instead of the buildings. As the bully is walking we can infer that maybe she is angry or in a bad mood because her head facing towards the ground and she is walking by herself.
This is an over the shoulder shot (OTS) this shows the victims point of view and allows audience to focus on the emotion of the bully. This also shows how intimidating the bully is.
This is an medium shot (MS) but this is from the waist and below to show the victims emotion with his clenched fist which implies that he is angry and has had enough of being bullied
This is a low angle (LA) this shows that the victim is tired of being bullied and wanted to face the bully and this shows that he is now in control and is now the dominant character so he can maybe attack the bully.
This is a high angle (HA) which makes the bully look small and vulnerable and now she is not in control so she is now the victim and is getting bullied.
*DIDN'T TAKE THE PICTURE*
this shot was supposed to show a birds eye view for the two characters running after each other into the building. this shot was used because we wanted get the full picture of what was happening also to show possible danger to the characters.
this is another low angle(LA) and this shows the emotion of the teacher as he gets the wrong idea and thinks the children are playing instead of fighting which gave him a jolly face
this is an long shot as it shows head to toe from both characters. this shows the audience the action which happens after the victim tries to fight back and fails which ends up in him getting pushed down the stairs by the bully. this means that the bully taken control again and is the dominant character.
*DIDNT TAKE THE PICTURE*
this was supposed to be an extreme close up to the victims eyes while he was on the floor after being pushed down the stairs. it was supposed to share his emotion which the audience as it would have shown a tear rolling down the side of his face so the audience could feel his pain.
